Mousetalgia Episode 488: D23 Expo Tokyo 2018, Disneyland ticket prices

Join us for a Mousetalgia therapy session regarding Disneyland’s increasing admission prices – what does it mean for the future of the passholder base and the traffic into the park? Then, Jeffrey Epstein, Director of Communications for D23 joins us to give us an inside scoop on some of the happenings at the D23 Expo Japan 2018. We discuss logistics, the differences between the D23 Expos in Japan and the United States, some of the news from the Expo… and shopping! Finally, we have an Olympic moment as we discuss Walt Disney’s involvement with the 1960 Winter Olympic Games at Squaw Valley. Plus – a review of America’s Best Value Inn and Suites motel, a review of Marvel’s Black Panther – and more.

Thanks for the hotel talk on this week’s show. The America’s Best VI&S seem to have price-jumped, so I’ll wait and check again later, but I couldn’t tell if you were poking fun at the Eden Roc as awful or as simply cheap but decent and would like to know (as I have a reservation there, it’s cancel-able in case I find something better closer to my trip in May). Thanks!

I don’t think anyone from the team has stayed at the Eden Roc in several years. Awhile back, Jeff had stayed there and found it to be lacking in comfort. I believe he even mentioned on the show, that he believed it had since been refurbished. I’m sure you already have, but checking the typical review sites (Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc) for recent reviews.

Hah, thanks for the reply. I actually chose the Eden Roc not just on price but it had better reviews (4 out of 5) than most on Orbitz. I just got worried when I heard the latest episode! Carpe Kingdom, folks!
