About
The Mousetalgia Mission
Welcome to Mousetalgia! We’re pleased you’ve decided to join us. We’re a podcast and community dedicated to the exploration of Disney in today’s society, emphasizing the theme park culture and exploring the past, present, and future endeavors of the people who have imagined Walt’s happy place into existence.
Mousetalgia is a place for fans of Disney to express their passion for anything Disney. As a venture based on the west coast, Team Mousetalgia plans to use this podcast to discuss topics regarding Disneyland Resort, the Walt Disney Family Museum (located in San Francisco, CA), and the general impact of the Disney company on today’s culture. We’ll also provide forums for listeners and fellow fans of Disney to discuss topics old and new.
Meet the Crew
The Mousetalgia podcast crew consists of your host, Dave; Dave’s wife, Becky; ‘cast comedienne Kristen; and Jeff (who is still known as “Chef Mayhem” around some parts.) Dave and Becky (right), AP holders, currently enjoy exploring Disneyland Park in their spare moments (though Becky grew up visiting Walt Disney World, adding some east coast flair to the podcast.) Kristen currently visits Disneyland as a regular visitor to the resort hotels, adding her expertise with the overall resort to the podcast mix. And Jeff, creator of fan-sites DoomBuggies.com and TellNoTales.com, adds his decade-long exploration of Disney fandom to the table.
Mousetalgia is produced in the heart of Silicon Valley, a not-insurmountable 5.5-hour drive away from the park. Dave, an IT Manager for a prestigious internet company, is also a self-proclaimed “ham radio geek” with roots in technology and theatre. Becky, is a travel planner with MEI-Travel , AND is our resident “foodie,” who will often weigh in on the culinary offerings at the resort. Kristen (left), a professional storyteller who has traveled to Africa to document the plight of sub-Saharan AIDS orphans, offers her own brand of light-hearted commentary on pop culture – a topic that can always use more light.
And Jeff (right, with his wife Jennifer), an art director for a Silicon Valley publishing group, adds his commentary from a lifetime of visiting Disneyland, collecting Disneyana, and studying the history of WED Enterprises and the people responsible for the unique theme park we all know and love. His years of involvement with his award-winning Disney fansites also give him a unique insight into the pulse of Disney fandom in general.
We hope that you enjoy Mousetalgia as much as we enjoy hosting it. And remember – you can be a part of the crew, too!
