It’ll Do Magic Believe It or Not…Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo-tique!

Every little girl who has seen the movie Cinderella has at one time or another dreamed of having a fairy
godmother who will magically transform them into a beautiful princess. With a visit to the Bibbidi
Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland Park and the assistance of a fairy godmother-in-training, your little
princess (or prince) can be transformed into a princess or even a knight in shining armor! Located in
Fantasyland behind Sleeping Beauty’s castle is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. The boutique offers guests
between the ages of 3 and 12 the opportunity to have their dreams come true.

My daughter and I have walked through the venue on many occasions and admired the array of
beautiful princess gowns and accessories. On our most recent visit to the park my family and I were
fortunate to experience the boutique first hand to celebrate my daughter’s fifth birthday.

Upon your check-in you are directed to the Enchanted Chamber, located directly underneath the castle
walk-through, where your princess or prince will select their attire. Princesses may choose from several
gowns while princes have the option of two swords and shields on display. After selecting their attire, an
attendant assists your child in selecting a hairdo. Options for princesses range from brightly colored hair
extensions with up-dos to a demure bun with Minnie Mouse clips. My little princess chose a Jasmine
crop-top, harem pants and a bun hairstyle- complete with sassy hot pink extensions!

After the selections are made your child is met by a fairy godmother-in-training who will whisk them
away to begin the royal treatment. Once inside the salon your child is seated in a child-size salon chair
and treated to a fantastic makeover. All makeovers include makeup with a face gem, nail polish, princess
sash, and cinch bag and range from the Crown Package ($64.95 + tax) to the Castle Package ($229.95 +
tax). Annual passes are accepted for discounts so be sure to mention you have one when checking in for
your appointment.

The fairy godmothers-in-training are AMAZING! They stay in character throughout the process and all of
the products used have Disney-inspired connotations. Hair spray is called “Elsa’s Freezing Potion” and
tangles in your hair are said to be made from Rapunzel’s friend Pascal hiding in your hair and making it
a tangled mess. During the transformation process the fairy godmother-in-training explained the steps
she was taking and made my daughter feel very comfortable and relaxed. My husband and I laughed as
our daughter looked as though she would fall asleep while having her hair brushed out!

Each girl is then given a pink princess sash to complete their new look. The sash says the name of the
boutique on it but if it’s your birthday you receive a special “Birthday Princess” sash to celebrate your
special day. Once the process is completed, the fairy godmother-in-training turned my daughter around
to face a wall covered in blue fabric. She then asked her to point her Jasmine wand at the wall and say
“Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo”. Like magic, the curtains separated and a mirror sparkling with flowers appeared
for my daughter to gaze upon her new reflection. She was then escorted to a back room where a Disney
Photo Pass Photographer took many pictures of her in a room with an enchanted forest setting. There
was even a scaled down version of Cinderella’s carriage for every child to sit in and allow them to truly
feel like a princess. Afterward, the boutique presented us with print copies of the princess pictures as
well as codes to access the pictures on the Disneyland app.

While the boutique can be pricey and time consuming—plan to be there for approximately 30-90
minutes depending on the package selected—it was worth every minute (and every penny). Watching
the interaction with the children and the fairy godmothers-in-training had many unique and enjoyable
moments. My daughter has already asked that we visit the boutique again because she had such a great
